How to Set or activate Credit Limit for Customers or Distributors in Borg Desk ERP?
Credit Limits help businesses control the amount of credit extended to customers or distributors, reducing financial risk and ensuring timely payments. In Borg Desk ERP, you can define and enforce credit limits per customer or distributor.
Step 1: Navigate to Accounts Module's Tool Icon Settings
1️⃣ Log in to Borg Desk ERP
2️⃣ Go to Accounts Module → Go To Tool Icon of Accounts Module --> Check Module Settings
3️⃣ find the Credit Limit Option
4️⃣Check customer/distributor credit limit (Set YES to enable or Set NO to disable) & Update
Step 2: Navigate to Customer/Distributor in the Settings ( Grear Icon on top right)
1️⃣ Log in to Borg Desk ERP
2️⃣ Go to Borg Desk Settings on Top Right ( Gear Icon)---> Clcik on Customer /Distributor Management→ Edit Customer/Distributor Management
3️⃣ Select the Customer or Distributor for whom you want to set a credit limit
Step 3: Set the Credit Limit
1️⃣ In the customer/distributor profile, find the Credit Limit section
2️⃣ Enter the maximum amount of credit allowed for that customer/distributor
3️⃣ It will remain applicable until It's deactivated from Accounts Module Settings.
4️⃣ Click Save to apply the credit limit
Step 3: Enforce Credit Limit in Transactions
✔ When creating an order or Proforma invoice (PI), the system will check the outstanding balance
✔ If the total outstanding amount exceeds the credit limit, the system will:
⚠ Show a warning to the sales team / Stock Team / Whosoever is creating PI
???? Restrict further orders unless the limit is increased or payment is made
Step 4: Monitor Credit Usage
✔ Go to Accounts Dashboard
✔ View Customer Credit Reports to track outstanding amounts
✔ Identify customers approaching their credit limit and take necessary actions
Step 5: Adjust Credit Limits (If Needed)
✔ If a customer needs a higher limit, update it in Customer Profile
✔ Set approval workflows for credit limit changes outside ERP & make it part of your system SOPs
